Hell yeah! This is what i am talking about. What a ride!
The movie I am talking about is Sinners ofcourse, which I happen to have watched yesterday night.
Sinners is another ryan coogler artpiece, starring micheal B. Jordan in dual roles of the stacksmoke twins. Being a vampire genre movie, man oh man the makers of the movie took care of the genre pretty well.

Spoiler free Opinion-
I personally liked the feel that Sinners gave me. It was a very engaging screenplay and i particularly loved the musical score by Mr. Ludwig Göransson. The “Sinners” is deeply related to music and Goransson has taken care of the impact needed through the score. The cinematography of the Sinners is no doubt praiseworthy and the colour theme of the lead characters hats’ holds a very important foreshadowing that you will understand once you watch the movie. Each character is memorable, and given enough screentime. But somewhere i personally felt we lacked somewhere the connection with the protagonists and antagonist of the movie. overall, the movie as a Dark themed thriller, especially from vampire genre, has done justice to the bucks. I personally recommend to check this out for a fresh experience of modern thriller cum horror!!!
Plot(Spoiler warning lol)
So the movie starts with an animated female voice narrating how great music can summon the souls of people from the past and future and in the same way, attracts evil souls too like the devils or haints. Then we see the twins “stack” and “smoke” , buying a wooden warehouse from a KKK member to start their own juke joint which is basically a black man party house. That was their attempt to leave back their troubled life at Chicago as gangsters.
The twins planned on the grand opening of the juke joint the same night and split themselves on different goals of setting up food, drinks and music for the party, starting with stack and smoke visiting their younger cousin “Sammy” who can play heavenly guitar, and then smoke split up from the other two for the time being.
Meanwhile as things start coming together and the joint getting ready for visitors, we see a person running towards a home with smoke/vapour coming off of him, who then is confronted by the home owners with guns but he offers them some gold to hide him from a group of native american hunters,he was “remmick”. This proves to be a fatal mistake as he turns both of them into blood thirsty beings.
On the night of the opening, guests arrive in big numbers, and party proceeds well. After some time, remmick along with the other two he turned, approach the doorstep of the juke joint, asking to be allowed in while the twins deny it. Later, Mary, ex girlfriend of stack approaches the trio not knowing their nature and is bitten by surprise. She then returns to the joint and turns stack vampire while in an intimate situation.
The night is then called off by smoke and visitors are sent home. All of them are turned into the same monsters in just some moments. Annie, smoke’s partner, who practises hoodoo, figures out they are vampires and not haints.
Then by the end whole county is turned into vampires who just wait to turn the guitarist Sammy into one of them, as his music would help reincarnate spirits of Remmick’s kind. We find out they can’t come inside unless invited.
The survivor group prepares for safety with wooden stakes and garlic water. Remmick calls out the survivors and tells them he will leave them all in exchange for sammy,to which the group says no. He warns “grace”,a survivor, that he will turn her daughter who’s in town into a vampire too,to which enraged grace reacts by daring him to enter the joint. Then the fight starts and several vampires are killed along with grace and few others. “Delta slim”, the musician, sacrifices himself to save the last three survivors smoke, sammy and pearline.
Pearline is turnt and smoke fights stack while Sammy jumps off the balcony. When Remmick tries to attack Sammy he smashes his guitar into Remmick’s head and stuns him while smoke stabs him with a wooden stake, while the sun rises up, burning and thus killing all of them. Smoke sends Sammy home, to save him from the KKK group that was going to attack them in the morning, as said so by Remmick. Smoke dies in the shootout that ensued in the morning.
Sammy, completely traumatized, returns home to his father’s church and despite all this, he refuses to put down the guitar and goes to Chicago to become a successful musician. 60 years later, stack and Mary visit Sammy in a bar, offering him immortality, which he refuses, and plays for them. Stack and Sammy both agree that, the day when everything happened was still the greatest day of their life. The couple then leave the bar. This puts an end to the movie.
